AWAY FROM THE CROSS?.

I was called to the Malaysian Bar in the year 2001- rather late. Prior to that I was a missionary and Bible teacher.It was my ex-girlfriend who commented that my Bible teaching and my preaching was nothing but 2nd class crap and urged me to take up law.Initially I thought that Satan was talking through her.It took much persuasion and cajoling on her part but eventually- like most ladies, she won the day.And so the transition to the legal turf began that season.I can still remember the day when a British group had come to Malaysia, to assess the suitability of potential law candidates in Malaysia. I was preaching in a Baptist church that morning and I had to rush down that afternoon- because that was the last day for registration for the LLB. They looked through my pre-qualifications and adviced that I did qualify to read law. [ I had the premonition that if I had shown them my Bible School manuscripts, they would have adviced me to try my luck at a monastary)

Nothing short of a miracle.It happened. But the bigger problem was still looming.I had already spent 4 years in Bible College. All the excitement of learning about God and His Holiness died down within 6 months thereafter. A word of caution here, for would be career preachers- if you think that Bible School is a sacred place, where students are prayerful and godly and the lecturers are "seated in the heavenly places in Christ..."- you are in for a big disappointment. There was even a certain lady lecturer who came to class wearing a tight skirt for the lectures.Taking into consideration all her make- up and what nots- she was nothing but a Sexzebel in disguise. But thats another story.

When my girlfriend (now known as my ex) tossed the idea of me being a lawyer into my mind, I did not even have the basic qualifications. Further my fellow ministers would never have approved of it. One pastor even went to say that Satan was trying to deviate me from the high calling of God. My lady then told me on a "strict basis" to ignore those "syaitan iblis" and registered me for the exams and bought the books for me. If this was indeed Satans plan to manuever me out of the Christian ministry- he certainly saw more possibillities for my future life than God did!!!
